Hyderabad, Aug. 28 -- South Central Railway (SCR) detected 13,964 passengers travelling without tickets or irregularly during a three-day intensive ticket checking drive conducted across the zone from August 24 to 26, and realised Rs 1.28 crore in ticket-checking revenue.

The drive was conducted by the Commercial Department across the entire SCR jurisdiction in view of the festival and holiday season to curb unauthorised travel and ensure comfortable journeys for genuine passengers, the SCR said in a release here on Friday.

During the drive, trains were thoroughly checked and action was taken against passengers travelling without tickets, irregular travellers and those carrying unbooked luggage.
