Srinagar, Aug. 27 -- The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced the closure of all schools and colleges across the union Territory tomorrow in view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions.

The announcement was made by J&K Education Minister Sakina Itoo on social media.

"Schools and Colleges across Jammu & Kashmir will remain closed tomorrow in view of inclement weather," she said.

Officials said that the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff.

J&K has witnessed record rainfall over the past two days, triggering flash floods, landslides, and widespread waterlogging.
