Mumbai, Jan. 23 -- A case of sexual assault on a minor schoolgirl has come to light in Badlapur, sending shockwaves across the town. Police have arrested a school van driver in connection with the incident, officials said on Friday.
The incident came to light after the minor girl returned home later than usual. On being questioned by her family, she narrated the ordeal, following which an immediate complaint was lodged with the police.
According to the victim's statement, the school van driver allegedly assaulted her while dropping her home after all other students had been dropped off along the route. Acting on the complaint, police from Badlapur West Police Station registered a case and arrested the accused driver.
