Kolkata, July 29 -- West Bengal Health Minister Dr Sharadwat Mukherjee on Wednesday said school students should wear uniforms that cover their arms and legs during the six-month dengue season to protect them from mosquito bites.

Speaking at a meeting at Swasthya Bhavan in Salt Lake's Sector V on Wednesday, Mukherjee said boys in government schools should wear full-sleeved shirts and trousers from July to December every year, while girls wearing skirts should ensure that their legs are covered during the period.

"The objective is to protect students from mosquito bites," the minister said.
