Bhubaneswar, Aug. 13 -- The Orissa High Court on Thursday sought a detailed compliance report from the Odisha government on measures taken to ensure the safety and security of students in schools across the State.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Harish Tandon and Justice Chitta Ranjan Dash issued notice to the government while hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by advocate and human rights activist Prabir Kumar Das. The court directed the State to submit its report within three weeks and posted the matter for further hearing on September 3.
