Agartala, Oct. 28 -- The Supreme Court has summoned the Chief Secretary of Tripura, along with several other states and UTs for their failure to submit compliance affidavits regarding the implementation of the Animal Birth Control Rules, 2023, including street dogs.
The chief secretaries have been ordered to appear in person on November 3.
Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta, and NV Anjaria expressed their strong dissatisfaction with the ongoing non-compliance, emphasizing that the lack of action from authorities has exacerbated the stray dog issue across the nation.
They remarked on the ongoing incidents, noting the negative impact this situation has on the country's image internationally.
