Dimapur, Sept. 11 -- SC/ST patients in Nagaland will get medical aid up to Rs 3.5 lakh under the revised Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme for 2026.
The Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, under the union ministry of social justice and empowerment, has revised the scheme for 2026, providing enhanced medical assistance to eligible SC and ST patients with serious and life-threatening ailments.
Under the revised guidelines, SC/ST applicants with an annual family income of not more than Rs 5 lakh are eligible to apply for assistance for major ailments requiring surgery or specialised treatment, the Chumoukedima DC's office forwarded the information to the concerned authorities on Thursday.
