New Delhi, Nov. 3 -- The Supreme Court today refused to entertain a bizarre petition filed by G. Sarvan Kumar seeking his own appointment as a High Court judge, calling it a "mockery of the system."The matter came up for the first time before a Bench comprising Chief Justice of India B R Gavai and Justice Vinod Chandran.

The Bench expressed strong displeasure over the plea, questioning whether the petitioner expected the apex court to convene a collegium meeting on his request.

"Do you want us to call the first three judges of this Court here and hold a collegium meeting now?You are making a mockery of the system!" remarked CJI Gavai.

The Court further hinted that it might impose costs on the petitioner for filing such a frivolous plea....
