New Delhi, May 25 -- The Supreme court on Monday asked the Madhya Pradesh government whether the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) could be directed to probe the Twisha Sharma dowry death case.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed the court that the CBI would take over the investigation and assured that the necessary administrative formalities would be completed on Monday itself.
The apex court took up for hearing the suo motu case relating to alleged institutional bias and procedural lapses in the Twisha Sharma death case. The matter was listed before a three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M Pancholi.
