New Delhi, Jan. 13 -- The Supreme Court Tuesday made absolute the interim bail granted to former Uttar Pradesh MLA Abbas Ansari in a case registered under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986.
A bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice Vipul M. Pancholi passed the order while disposing of Ansari's petition.
The court noted that Ansari had been on interim bail for a considerable period and that there was no allegation that he had misused the liberty granted to him.
