New Delhi, July 16 -- Supreme Court judge Justice BV Nagarathna on Thursday voiced concern over the introduction of a third language at the Class 9 level under the CBSE curriculum, saying it places additional pressure on students preparing for board examinations.
The observation came during the hearing of the Tamil Nadu government's appeal against a Madras High Court order directing the State to facilitate the establishment of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) in every district. Tamil Nadu has opposed setting up JNVs, arguing that they follow the three-language policy.
