New Delhi, July 13 -- The Supreme Court on Monday issued notices to the Centre, the Uttar Pradesh government and the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on a batch of petitions seeking a CBI probe into the alleged embezzlement of donations received for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.
The court also directed the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government to file a status report detailing the progress of its investigation and the composition of the SIT.
A bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohan heard the petitions.
