New Delhi, Sept. 1 -- The Supreme Court today directed the chairman of the Bihar State Legal Services Authority to depute para legal volunteers (PLVs) to assist voters and political parties in submitting online claims, objections, or corrections during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state.

A bench comprising Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi, however, refrained from extending the deadline for filing such claims beyond September 1, noting the assurance of the Election Commission of India (ECI) that objections submitted even after the deadline would be duly considered before finalisation of the electoral rolls.
