Patna, Feb. 27 -- The Supreme Court Collegium, headed by the Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant, has cleared the names of nine advocates for appointment as judges of the Patna High Court, the highest number ever recommended at one time in its history.
With these appointments, the court's strength will increase from 38 to 47 judges.
Justice Surya Kant headed the meeting of the Supreme Court Collegium held on February 26, 2026, in which the proposal for the appointment of nine judges to the Patna High Court was approved.
The advocates whose names have been cleared for appointment are Md. Nadim Seraj, Ranjan Kumar Jha, Kumar Manish, Sanjeev Kumar, Girijish Kumar, Alok Kumar, Raj Kumar, Rana Vikram Singh, and Vikash Kumar.
