New Delhi, June 2 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday said it had arrested an SBI Branch Manager posted at Dumaria, Jharkhand, in a bribery case.

According to the CBI, the case was registered on May 31 based on allegations that the accused, Rohit Kumar Singh, demanded a bribe of Rs 60,000 for processing a claim under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) amounting to Rs 2,00,000, related to the complainant's deceased mother.

The accused had also allegedly demanded an additional Rs 17,000 to remove a hold on the withdrawal of Rs 35,000 after the bank account of the complainant's mother was transferred in the complainant's name.
