Pune, Oct. 14 -- The Maharashtra government has assigned the additional charge of secretary of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) to Mumbai Suburban District Collector Saurabh Katiyar following the transfer of secretary Mahendra Harpalikar.
The changes come amid an ongoing controversy over the alleged MPSC examination paper leak, which triggered protests by aspirants in Pune demanding the resignation of commission chairman Vivek Bhimanwar.
Bhimanwar has proceeded on leave until the completion of the inquiry into the alleged paper leak.
The aspirants had staged an 11-day protest, demanding his resignation, following which the state government announced an investigation into the matter.
