Jakarta, June 3 -- India's Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty suffered an injury setback and retired midway through their men's doubles opening-round match at the Indonesia Open 2026 badminton tournament here on Wednesday.

The Indian badminton players, fourth in the men's doubles BWF rankings, were trailing Malaysia's 23rd-ranked duo Aaron Tai and Kang Khai Xing 11-6 in the opening gamewhen they retired from the contest after just seven minutes.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy was seen pointing towards his right shoulder before walking off the badminton court.
