Satara, Oct. 25 -- The tragic suicide of a woman doctor from Phaltan's Sub-District Hospital has sent shockwaves across Maharashtra.

Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) leader Ambadas Danve claimed that the doctor's life could have been saved if the police had acted promptly on her earlier complaints of harassment and undue pressure.

According to reports, the doctor left a suicide note written on her hand, naming two police officers: PSI Gopal Badane and Constable Prashant Bankar. Acting on orders from Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, both officers have been suspended. The note alleged that Badane sexually assaulted her, while Bankar subjected her to mental harassment.
