Siliguri, Feb. 12 -- Sarita Yolmo has made history as the first woman Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) to be assigned "Tour Duty" on the iconic Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) under Northeast Frontier Railway.
Seen performing her duty here on the UNESCO World Heritage Toy Train route, she represents a landmark moment for women in field and operational roles within Indian Railways.
"Sarita's journey to this historic moment is one of remarkable perseverance. She began her career in the Railway Press, serving with dedication until the facility's closure.
