Rio De Janeiro, April 8 -- Damian Bobadilla scored in the second half as Sao Paulo clinched a 1-0 away win over Boston River in their opening Copa Sudamericana group match.

Paraguayan midfielder Bobadilla broke the deadlock just after the hour by dancing into the box and lashing a low drive into the far corner on Tuesday.

The hosts controlled less than a fifth of the total possession and managed only one shot on target.

Elsewhere, Gonzalo Sosa, Gaston Martirena and Adrian Fernandez scored as Argentina's Racing Club eased to a 3-1 win at Bolivia's Independiente Petrolero.

Veteran midfielder Thomaz was on the scoresheet for the hosts after converting a penalty on the stroke of halftime.
