Mumbai, July 31 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Maharashtra chief spokesperson Navnath Ban on Friday alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut and other Opposition members "walked out of Parliament" while the Public Examinations Bill was being passed.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP's state office, Ban said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union Home Minister Amit Shah, anyone found involved in paper leaks in the future would face significantly harsher punishment and heavier financial penalties.
He described the legislation as "historic" and accused the Opposition of abandoning the proceedings despite its importance.
