New Delhi, July 24 -- The Delhi government reviewed preparations for the annual Kanwar Yatra, directing departments to complete arrangements for sanitation, medical services, traffic management and security ahead of the arrival of devotees carrying holy Ganga water during the month of Shravan, said the officials on Friday.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta chaired a high-level meeting at the Delhi Secretariat to assess the readiness of various departments. Ministers, MLAs who are members of the Kanwar Committee, and senior government officials attended the meeting.
According to the government, welcome gates will be set up at key entry points into the city, while arrangements have also been made to receive Kanwariyas at designated locations. The ...
