Chandigarh, April 30 -- A domestic dispute turned into a tragedy in Punjab's Sangrur district, where a man allegedly shot dead his father-in-law and brother-in-law.
The victims had traveled from Patiala to Sangrur to mediate a conflict between the suspect and his wife, but the intervention escalated into a fatal confrontation.
The deceased have been identified as Lakhbir Singh and his son, Jagsir Singh, residents of Bassi Rasoli village in Patiala.
According to the police, Lakhbir's daughter, Veerpal Kaur, was married to the accused, Gurvinder Singh, a resident of Shadihari. The couple had reportedly been facing persistent marital discord since their marriage, with frequent arguments breaking out over minor issues.
