Sangli, June 11 -- In a shocking incident, a 14 year-old boy, grandson of a labour leader, was shot in the head over an extortion dispute by unidentified criminals in the Abhaynagar area of the city this evening.
According to police, the deceased boy was identified as Vendant Bandgar, whose grandfather Balu Bandagar is a labour leader.
Unidentified criminals from Sangli had demanded extortion money from Balu and his associate Thorat by forcibly entering Thorat's house in Jat, and had tried to attack both men, which failed.
After this, the criminals went to Bandgar's house in Abhaynagar area of Sangli city. At this time, the Sarait criminals saw Balu Bandgar's grandson Vedant Bandgar playing games on his mobile phone outside the house.
