New Delhi, June 27 -- Recalling the horrors of the Emergency, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday said that June 25 is one of the important days in country's history, remembered as Samvidhan Hatya Diwas so that future generations understand that if anyone tries to repeat such an act in the future, the 140 crore citizens of India will never allow it.

Gupta on Friday was speaking at a seminar held here under the chairmanship of Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra, to remember the Emergency imposed by the then Congress government in 1975, which had led to the suppression of democracy.

On this occasion, 115 Loktantra Senanis (democracy warriors) were also felicitated.
