Patna, Oct. 19 -- : Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Monday greeted the people on Mahanavami and prayed to Goddess Durga for peace, happiness and prosperity in the state.
Choudhary expressed hope that the blessings of the goddess would strengthen efforts to empower women and ensure dignity, security and equal opportunities for every girl.
He said respecting and empowering women and building a strong society remained important commitments. He also prayed for Bihar's continued progress and prosperity.
Earlier in the day, the chief minister visited the Maa Kali Temple at Bans Ghat and the Shri Durga Puja Samiti on Dak Bungalow Road in Patna, where he offered prayers to Goddess Durga.
