New Delhi, July 24 -- Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) reported strong profitability in Q1FY27 with net profit rising by 138per cent to Rs 1,636 crore compared to Rs 685 crore of the corresponding period last year (CPLY).
According to SAIL, revenue from operations rose to Rs 26,246 crore in Q1FY27 compared to Rs 25,921 crore of the same period of the previous fiscal.
In Q1FY27, Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) stood at Rs 4,356 crore.
In the first quarter of the current fiscal, SAIL moderated volumes compared to last year by advancing certain scheduled repairs and maintenance during this quarter.
This step was necessitated due to geopolitical volatility that disrupted global supply chains.
