Chandigarh, Aug. 21 -- Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia on Friday said people in Punjab wanted the SAD and BJP to come together again, a day after his sister and Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal indicated that the alliance could be revived.
Majithia said the two parties had parted ways after the 2020 farm laws controversy, but circumstances in Punjab had since changed. He said the final decision on any political tie-up would be taken by the senior leadership of both parties after discussions.
"There is a demand from the people that we should come together again," Majithia said, pointing to law and order, security along Punjab's border, development and employment as issues driving that sentiment.
