Chandigarh, May 9 -- The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Saturday officially announced its decision to contest the upcoming elections for nine Municipal Corporations and 102 Nagar Councils on the party's symbol.

This significant move was finalized during a high-level meeting of district presidents and constituency in-charges, chaired by party president Sukhbir Singh Badal.

During the deliberations, the party leadership also raised serious concerns regarding the AAP government's new anti-sacrilege law, alleging that Gurdwara committees and granthis are being unfairly targeted under the guise of punishment.
