Wuhan, Oct. 11 -- Top seed Aryna Sabalenka extended her unbeaten run to 20 matches in Wuhan Open, defeating Elena Rybakina 6-3, 6-3 to reach the semifinals, while second seed Iga Swiatek was stunned by Jasmine Paolini of Italy here.

The world No. 1 overpowered her Kazakh opponent with aggressive baseline hitting, breaking Rybakina's serve in the eighth game of the opening set, before sealing it 6-3 on Friday.

Sabalenka continued her momentum in the second set, downing the eighth seed with another 6-3 in one hour and 25 minutes.

"Rybakina is a great opponent, and I love playing her, because she really pushes me to the next level, and that's what I love," Sabalenka said after the match.
