Kyiv, Aug. 7 -- Russia is increasingly dependent on high-speed ballistic missiles to strike Ukrainian cities, exploiting a critical weakness in Kyiv's air defence network, the shortage of interceptors capable of destroying such weapons.
While Ukraine has stepped up long-range attacks inside Russia in recent months, targeting oil refineries, fuel infrastructure and logistics hubs, Moscow has responded with increasingly sophisticated missile and drone barrages. Ukrainian officials say the "most dangerous component of these attacks is the use of ballistic missiles," which travel at extremely high speeds and often leave civilians with little or no warning.
