Moscow, Aug. 30 -- Russia expects South Africa's G20 presidency to consolidate the achievements of the Global South, Russian President Vladimir Putin told China's Xinhua news agency.
The Russian president's interview ahead of his official visit to China was published on the Kremlin website.
"This year, our South African friends hold the G20 presidency. As a result of their efforts, we look forward to consolidating the Global South's achievements and establishing them as a foundation for the democratization of international relations. Within APEC, China's chairmanship in 2026 is expected to give fresh impetus to Russia-China engagement," Putin said.
