Moscow/Kyiv, April 27 -- Russia has asked the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to exercise the strongest action against Ukraine for what it said was a "reckless and criminal" attack on the country's Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, after an employee was killed in what Moscow alleged was a targeted strike on the facility.
Foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Moscow expected a firm response from the UN nuclear watchdog, and its director general Rafael Grossi, urging them not to remain silent in the face of what she said were repeated attacks on nuclear infrastructure.
