Chennai, Sept. 16 -- Filing of nominations for the October six Tamil Nadu Assembly by-elections to Madurantakam and Dharapuram seats, which fell vacant following the resignation of Rebel AIADMK MLAs, ended on Wednesday at 1500 hrs.
On the last day today, candidates of the ruling TVK and the CPI and CPI-M, which are extending outside support to the TVK government headed by Chief Minister Vijay, besides the Opposition AIADMK, filed their papers before the respective Returning Officers.
The scrutiny would take place tomorrow and the last date for withdrawals is September 19 after which a final picture on the total number of contestants would be known.
