Ruling CPI(M)-led LDF win 4 seats unanimously before local body elections in Kannur

Kannur, Nov. 22 -- The ruling CPI(M) led Left Democratic Front (LDF) won four seats unanimously -- two each from Anthoor Municipality and Malappattam grama panchayat in Kannur district, as the opposition parties Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) and BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), or independent failed to field their candidates in the CPI(M) stronghold areas, as the date for filing nominations for local body polls ended today.

LDF won four seats, two seats each from Anthoor Municipality and Malappattam Grama Panchayat elections.

CPI(M) candidates K Rajitha won from Morazha ward, while K P Premarajan was declared elected unopposed from Podikundu ward in Anthoor Municipality,While in Malappattam grama panchayat, CPI(M) ...
