Shimla, Aug. 26 -- The Himachal Pradesh Assembly on the seventh day of the monsoon session witnessed noisy scenes and a walkout by the opposition BJP after dissatisfaction with the government's reply on industrial growth and employment.

Raising the issue during question hour, BJP MLA Bikram Thakur sought details of new industries set up in the past three years, closures during the period, and employment generated.

Alleging that the reply given by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was incomplete, Thakur charged the ruling Congress with extorting money from industries and claimed corruption was rampant in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh belt, leading the industries to migrate from the state.
