Shimla, Aug. 28 -- The Himachal Pradesh Assembly witnessed uproar during Question Hour today as BJP MLAs accused the Congress government of large-scale irregularities in the allotment of shops in APMC Shimla and Kinnaur.
The opposition alleged corruption in the allotment of 70 shops at Parala, Shilaru, and Tutu mandis, and demanded a vigilance inquiry into the process as well as the outsourcing of the Controlled Atmosphere (CA) store at Parala.
Agriculture Minister Chandra Kumar, however, rejected the allegations, asserting that "the allotment of shops was carried out in a transparent and prescribed process."He described the transfer of APMC's secretary as a routine departmental matter and cautioned the opposition not to "create sensation...
