Chennai, May 31 -- Nominations for the June 18 bye-election to the lone Rajya Sabha seat from the Tamil Nadu Assembly, will begin tomorrow, and the ruling TVK headed by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay is all set to get its maiden berth to the Upper House of Parliament, making it doubly sweetier after forming the government in its first attempt after a stunning show in the Assembly polls.
The seat fell vacant following the resignation of C Ve Shanmugam of AIADMK following his victory from the Mailam Assembly constituency in his native Villupuram district in the recent.polls. Shanmugam had resigned on May seven, though his term was said to end on June 29, 2028 resulting in the bypoll.
