Shahpur, June 3 -- Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania on Wednesday announced that around Rs 5 crore would be spent on flood protection and conservation works in the Tatwani area to safeguard local residents from flood-related damage.

Addressing a function after dedicating three additional classrooms constructed at a cost of Rs 30 lakh at Government Primary School, Salwana, Pathania said extensive retaining wall and flood protection works would be undertaken in the area. He also informed that an eco-park is proposed to be developed near Tatwani.

Pathania said the construction of the Rait-Kohla road, being built at a cost of about Rs 6 crore, has been completed and tarring work will commence shortly, improving connectivi...
