Malappuram, Sept. 12 -- Kerala Water Resources Minister Roshi Augustine said today that the 'Har Ghar Jal Jeevan Mission' was progressing rapidly in the state, with works worth Rs 5,987 crore being carried out in Malappuram district alone by utilizing Central and state allocations.

He inaugurated a function at Mundakulam Angadi, where Muthuvallur panchayat near Kondotty was announced as the district's first Har Ghar Jal Panchayat.

The minister said that there were many hurdles when the Jal Jeevan Mission works began to ensure the supply of clean drinking water across the state.
