Varanasi, April 1 -- In a major action against drug trafficking, the Delhi-based appellate tribunal SAFEMA (Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act Authority) has ordered the seizure of assets worth Rs 30.52 crore belonging to Bhola Prasad, father of alleged codeine syrup syndicate kingpin Shubham Jaiswal, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

The action stems from a high-profile case in Rohania's Bhadwar area, where police recovered over 500 cartons of codeine-based cough syrup from the basement of a gym operating in a two-storey building on November 28, 2025.
