New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Wednesday approved the four-laning of the 82.578-km Muzaffarpur-Sitamarhi-Sonbarsa stretch of National Highway-22 in Bihar at a capital cost of Rs 3,590.73 crore, with the project expected to boost connectivity with the India-Nepal border, ease traffic congestion and strengthen regional economic activity.
Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the decision after the Cabinet meeting and said the highway would be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM).
The project will provide a vital four-lane link between Sonbarsa near the India-Nepal border and Muzaffarpur, where the corridor connects with NH-27, part of the East-West Corridor. The gove...
