Shimla, March 25 -- Himachal Pradesh government has projected an estimated revenue of Rs 228 crore from toll (entry tax) collection under its revised toll policy, marking an increase of Rs 54 crore compared to the previous year.
The revenue projections come amid political debate in the Assembly, where MLAs Rakesh Jamwal, Rakesh Kalia and Sukhram Chaudhary raised concerns over the impact of entry tax on border residents and commuters.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu clarified that private vehicles registered in Himachal Pradesh are exempt from entry tax.
