Srinagar, April 11 -- The Crime Branch Kashmir's Cyber Crime Investigation Centre for Excellence (CICE), has recovered more than Rs 22 lakh in cyber fraud cases over the past three months.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, CICE Ashiq Hussain Malik said this highlights both the scale of online scams and the growing efforts to counter them.
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Malik said a significant amount of defrauded money has been successfully put on hold and is in the process of being returned to victims. However, he cautioned that large sums are still being lost due to lack of vigilance among the public.
