New Delhi, Feb. 13 -- : The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Thursday approved Rs 17,583 crore budget for the financial year 2026-27 at a meeting held by Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh on Friday, an official said.

Calling it the largest budget in the corporation's history, the Mayor said the financial plan, presented by Leader of the House Pravesh Wahi, has been crafted to address the needs of Delhi's residents while promoting inclusive development.

"A strong welfare focus is evident in new schemes for women and persons with disabilities. In each ward, 15 widows, single mothers, and persons with disabilities will receive Rs 21,000 as financial assistance for their daughters' marriage," the Mayor said.
