Hazaribagh (Jharkhand), Oct. 10 -- Under the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, police and administrative teams recovered Rs 16.50 lakh in cash from a woman during a vehicle checking operation in Chouparan, Hazaribagh district.
Official sources said the joint vehicle checking drive was being conducted near the Chordaaha check-post under Chouparan police station around 8:30 pm yesterday. During the operation, a vehicle was stopped for inspection. Upon searching the vehicle, the team found a suitcase containing Rs 16,50,000 in cash.
