Bhubaneswar, Sept. 11 -- The Special Enforcement personnel of Odisha Excise department has made a seizure of Rs 1.46 crore drugs banned under Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act in the last 24 hours, an official said on Thursday.
In five separate drug busts, 11 kilograms of ganja and 479 grams of heroin were seized, informedthe official, adding that it was a sustained drive as part of a zero-tolerance approach aimed at dismantling illegal supply chains that endanger public health.
Authorities reported the detection of 224 cases and the arrest of 136 individuals involved in illicit liquor and narcotics trade.
