Nagpur, March 21 -- union Minister and president of the Republican Party of India (A), Ramdas Athawale, on Saturday indicated that his party is considering staying out of the upcoming West Bengal Assembly Elections to prevent a split in votes, while extending full support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Addressing a press conference in Nagpur, Athawale said that although RPI (A) has a presence in West Bengal, the party may refrain from fielding candidates in the state to strengthen the BJP's prospects.
However, he clarified that the party will actively contest elections in other states, including Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Providing details, Athawale said the party is likely to field candidates in 25-30 constituencies...
