Kolkata, Aug. 22 -- Sundar, a Royal Bengal tiger estimated to be around 16-years-old, died at the Sundarban Wild Animal Park in Jharkhali early on Saturday after undergoing treatment for an infection for nearly two weeks, forest department officials said.
Sundar had been brought to the Jharkhali facility in 2022 and was kept there instead of being released into the wild because of age-related concerns, a senior forester said. He died in the early hours despite treatment by veterinarians.
