Mysuru, Sept. 18 -- T Narasipura in Mysuru district was on high alert on Friday as a dispute over the route of a Hindu Mahaganapati Shobha Yatra coincided with a separate Constitution 'Sauharda' Rath Yatra being held along the same route, prompting the police to deploy around 5,000 personnel.
The Hindu Jagarana Vedike, which has installed a Hindu Mahaganapati in T Narasipura for the first time, has decided to take out the procession through the Link Road, a route that had reportedly drawn objections from the police.
The Shobha Yatra is scheduled to commence at around 4 pm, with organisers expecting a large turnout of between 5,000 and 10,000 people.
